Patching World Adventures.

Post by Gasper on Mon 19 Mar 2012, 22:51

I'm reinstalling all of my Sims 3 games downloaded from games4theworld.org
I've just started, following all the specific steps to a T, (other than the ones that I was told to avoid by the guide on here for installing The Sims 3 - the complete guide.)

I've done the patcher (help in Crack #>Crack 1) and did it for the correct spot specified (C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3)
I've copied over the correct files from the World Adventures.rar Crack 2 into The Sims 3 game/bin.
When I run the very top patcher "Sims3_1.2.7.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe"

And it gives me this error:
(telling exactly what's on the pop-up)

"dfc-gorilla by Pocket Soft, Inc.
(c)Copyright 2003-2008. Pocket Soft, Inc.

Processing: Game/Bin/HelpPages/CZE_CZ/Help_Updates.html"

Pop up that comes with it:

"dfc-gorrila Error
Invalid file found"

This is following everything exactly, the first time I've started installing The Sims 3 on this computer. Please help.

Try reading this. and see if it helps you at all. If you go by that guide, you might bypass all the extra patches that may give you trouble.

That's exactly what I'm following.
He doesn't specify anywhere in the installation guide or there if he wants us to bypass the patching since the fix.
I'm just following the Sims 3 Guide and the Installation guide in World Adventures.

if you have any of the current expansions, showtime/pets/town life/generations, you install the most recent expansion first, which will update your game on install to the most recent patch which is 1.31 (for showtime)

After you install showtime/pets etc you bypass all other patches listed for older expansions, since your game is already up to date.

I had the problem like this. So I read the notice linked in the download section. but I heared it can make error if I install the sims3 in incorrect order. So, I followed the Installation Guide in WA folder and I succeeded in patching the base game. I think Installation guide make a little confusion. Espesially instruction number 3 in the installation guide.

After I followed instruction number 2, I installed 'sims3patch.exe' and copied and pasted the files in 'C:\Program Files\Sims 3' to 'C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3' and replaced. did not Change the 'C:\Program Files\Sims 3' to: 'C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3' And I followed instruction from number 4.

Perhaps I have problem with understanding the Installaion guide because I'm not a native speaker for English. but I think there are people like me, so I write this.

Have a good day.

Hello,

The installation guides that come with the older expansionpacks are no longer valid since things changed with EA's release of Generations.
You don't actually have to install the expansions in release order, that's just a lot of work.
If you have a problem at this time, please open a topic in the Downloads section.
