It looks like you installed an unofficial game mods error.[SOLVED]

Post by bigbird on Tue 20 Mar 2012, 12:13

Okay, so I never updated to 1.31 I immediately skipped to 1.33 because I hadn't played in awhile.
So, I manually updated and inserted the cracks.
As the title states an error message pops up whenever I try to install new content.
The only sims 3 modification I have installed is the super nude patch and when I uninstalled it the message still pops up.
I didn't want to make this topic without searching and I have searched with only one topic popping up and after Lady Eldi replied
the person who posted it never said anything.
If I missed something or I didn't search hard enough, I'm willing to be berated just to fix this nuisance.

Hello,

Try applying the latest fix, this error can also come up if you're using an outdated crack.

Hello,

Can you post a screenshot of the folder you copied the crack to? It would be most helpful if it was a detailed view which shows the file type's and date&time stamp as well as the folder's path.

I'm also having this problem. Is it all right to post here instead of creating a separate thread?

I was getting the error after installing Showtime (downloaded). I applied the recent (post 1.33) ultimate fix to my downloaded CCs (which were only Showtime and Generations). It didn't help. So I removed the entire Sims 3 documents folder therefore removing all CC and downloaded content. Didn't help. So I uninstalled everything and reinstalled base game, WA, LN, Gen, and Pets. I haven't even gotten to Showtime yet but it's already giving me the error. I applied the ultimate fix for Generations and get the same error.

When I get the game going it tells me there's a network error and update the game. So I open the launcher, which tells me there is a new patch for your Sims 3 Store content. Would you like to download the latest patch? I click Yes. It tells me it's patched, but does nothing. In other words when I refresh I get the same prompt to DL a patch.

Help!

I fixed it.
I uninstalled my base game and realized I inserted the crack before updating.
The weird part was once I followed the instructions to the T and this time I couldn't bring up my launcher, but once I manually updated it and then put in the crack my launcher came on. It's normal now.
Thank you!

Hello,

It's always better to open a new topic, problems may look the same on the outside but the cause can be different. So it's easier for us to provide more personal support if everyone opens their own topic, and will allow us to keep better track of who's problems are and aren't solved.

@Bigbird,
Good to hear your game is working now.

Don’t hesitate to post if you have questions or problems again!
Happy simming The Sims Plumbob 1 topic closed.
