cant get the update to work!

hello Smile
so ive been trying for a while now, to update to 1.33.2, (base game is currently on version 1.0.631.00002) but an error occurs saying..
"CRC error: The file C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game Data\Shared\Packages\DeltaBuild0.package doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor"
I am able to click Abort, Retry, or Ignore. One thing i read was to just click ignore and it should work properly, so i did, and it kept coming up with different files like "DeltaBuild1.package" and others, i kept clicking ignore, and it finally stopped and the update finished, then when i tried playing the game the launcher wouldn't show up and "The Sims 3 has stopped working"came up and i couldn't play it at all, so i uninstalled it and installed it again, and here i am, i have no clue what to do, when i used your manual patch update -->http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v133-fix-manual-patch-updated<-- at the end of the download it said an error occured, ive tried that four times now and it says the same thing over and over again. I also tried -->http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly<-- but when i try installing an expansion pack it says my sims 3 base game needs to be updated, but the update wont work! I don't know what to do! PLEASE help Sad

I only have the sims 3 base game downloaded at the moment, but i also have pets, generations, high-end loft stuff, fast lane, world adventures, ambitions and late night to be downloaded after i update to version 1.33.2
Please tell me everything i need to know, am i doing something wrong? Let me know step by step if you can Smile

Perhaps one of your current expansions is faulty, unless it's a legit copy. Have you tried uninstalling all your games and re-installing? That always seems to work the best.

Its a legit copy, i bought it from EA games. Yes i have uninstalled and installed over and over again, but the same thing always happens Sad

Anita, I think That the best course of action is to wait for the administrator to take a look at your problem at this time. Since you have reinstalled already. Please answer this questions, so that we may have a better idea of what is going on.
Did you clean your registry after uninstalling the base game? Did you update the game manually up to patch 1.29 and then 1.31 incremental, then 1.33 super patcher?
Also, do not apply the cracks provided with each EP; you will only need to install, update manually and at the end apply the ultimate fix according to the instructions you already are linked to and read. Please do post again, so that the ADMINISTRATOR may help you further.

What do you mean by "clean your registry"? Do you mean clean my computer and delete all the sims 3 files after i uninstall?
and no i just went straight into downloading patch 1.33.2, i will try download it manually to patch 1.29 then 1.31 incremental, then i will try the 1.33 super patch. but could you please link me the correct patches, i dont want to get the wrong ones and get ones that dont work, if you can Smile
Also i havent used any cracks before for the sims 3.

Hello,

Unfortunately the only way to redo patching is to reinstall.
Do this as follows:

-Uninstall everything with youruninstallerpro (can be downloaded here) and/or run Ccleaner after uninstalling.
-Restart your pc. Though seemingly unimportant, please don't skip this step.
-Install your base game
-Use the superpatcher for version 1.29 to get to that version.

-Now check your SKUversion as follows
1.Open "Start", type "regedit" in the search box and
then press [ENTER].
2.When you're in the Register Editor, navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Sims > The Sims 3 OR IT MAY BE IN:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Sims > The Sims 3 (Windows 7, Vista)
3.Here you'll see a file called "SKU". Double click on it and have a look at the number. You'll need it to decide which patch you need to download. There's no need to change its value at this point, so you can close the registry.

-Now, use the incremental (small) patch for version 1.31. I will give you a link to download these patches at the end of this post. Look for the one with the region number as found when you looked at the registry, and download it.

-Now that your base game is up to patch level 1.31, you can start installing your expansions. Note that you need to install at least one of the following expansions: Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations. If you don't, you won't be able to play after cracking.
-Get this manual patch and install it.
-Download the fix and apply it when you're finished installing everything.

Note that you shouldn't apply any other cracks or patches during the installation of your game. The Installation Guides have become obsolete, so only use them to get the serial key and disregard the rest. If World Adventures gives you a "region error" during installation, you should however change the SKUversion as described in its Installation guide.
Also, everything you download from G4TW should be extracted with winRAR, any other extracter can mess up the files.


You can find the 1.29 superpatch, and the 1.31 incremental patch here.

I followed the steps carefully and correctly, I downloaded superpatch 1.29, when it was updating with the EA launcher after it downloaded, it said the CRC error message again,

I bought it from EA games, it's an actual copy, and i have the CD-ROM and everything.

I recommend using this patch instead: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v133-fix-manual-patch-updated
If you re-download it, your error should be gone. Download it using Internet Explorer, just to be sure.

I have already tried that patch, but i used Mozilla Firefox, will it make a difference if I use Internet Explorer?

Do you think it will work though? Because I use my Iphone internet, and it takes up to 3 hours to download.

Hello,

You're using your iPhone as a modem? Yes, then 3 hours is pretty fast.
Note that the update is almost 1GB in size, so I hope you do not have a bandwidth limit.
