help with a mod?[SOLVED]

Post by xjessyx on Sun 29 Apr 2012, 08:49

I don't know if you can help me about this. I've posted a comment on the creators.. site/wall/thing on MTS and haven't gotten a response yet. I don't know if they've been on lately or if they've checked it lately but noone has posted a comment besides me. But anways, here's what I posted. --------------- P.S. it's a mod to change start and end times of the school and the number of hours they go.

i've been trying to get this mod to work and it won't. I dunno if it's because I messed with it (i tried to get the teens to start at 7 and go until 4 and the kids to start at 8 and go until 3, Mon-Thur. That wasn't working, so I changed both to start at the same time. I figured that's why it wasn't working. But nothing happened. It's like I don't even have it in the game. If you could help me, that would be great and much appreciated. Below- in bold -is what I've messed with.

Code:
<SchoolElementary>
<Title>ElementaryStudent</Title>
<BasePay>0</BasePay>

Thanks in advanced :bunny:

If you can't help, that's fine. I thought I'd try anyway Smile

Hello,

Maybe you'll have to wait a few days before you'll get a response. not everyone is as dedicated as the G4TW team Very Happy
But it looks like it could conflict with other school and career related mods, do you have any?

I have Twallan's Career mods. But as far as school mods, I don't have any.

Hello,

Start by running them by Delphy's Dashboard, that may tell you if they conflict. If nothing comes up, you may try to disable Twallans mod for the time being, though that may cause more problems than it's worth.
But I do have a feeling that there could be a conflict between the career mod and the school tuning mod.

ok, I ran it, and it's saying that:

NRaas_Career.package conflicts with NRaas_StoryProgression.package
Gothique Library.package conflicts with The Sims 3 Store - Gothique Spellbook.package
Chicken 0895 Pension Very Livable.package conflicts with School 7 Hour Change.package

I forgot about the Pension mod that I had downloaded, but I don't understand why the other's are conflicts when they're together. Twallan never meantioned the Careers mod and SP conflicting. And I thought that the Gothiques was a set in the store.

But anyways, I found out what was conflicting with it. My question is now, if I deleted the mod and keep the Pension mod and just edit the hours in the GameplayDate.package, will that work? Or will it be the same as just having the mods together?

Hello,

No idea! Backup your save games before you try.
It doesn't make sense that Nraas career and storyprogression mod would conflict. But if they don't cause problems, I would just leave them both. Same with the spellbook and the Gothique library.

Actually, Twallan says right in the description of the Base Careers mod that "Delphy's Dashboard will state that this mod conflicts with StoryProgression Mod. This is a non-issue and can be safely ignored." So it's not an issue that they're shown like that. Very Happy

IT WORKED!!! cheers Hammertime
I took out the Pension mod and the mod for the school times just edited the careers xml to what I wanted in both mods and it worked Very Happy
I don't know about the pensions yet, my elder is level 5 and I just edited the pensions of levels 9 and 10 of each career. But even if it doesn't, it's alright, cause I finally got the school times to work Very Happy
