Hello,

No you should be able to uninstall expansions without incident. It might mess up your save games, but it should be no problem to start the game.
Have a look at your launcher, is the base game icon lit up? Now hover your mouse over it. Are you looking at your base game version, or a bunch of 0's?
What you can always try, is to apply the entire fix from start to finish.

it won't even load the startup screen before that error message pops up. so i think i'm going to try the whole installing the fix again from start to finish.

//EDIT

Hello,

Ok so you may have to reinstall the base game. I'm not sure what could've caused it though. Uninstalling an expansion really shouldn't have that effect on the base game.

Hello,

Try as following:

*Backup your savegames first!

1. Completely (force) uninstall the base game, using Your Uninstaller! Pro, which can be downloaded from www.games4theworld.org .
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall the base game, following the included "# Installation Guide.txt".
4. Re-apply the latest version of the Ultimate Fix.
5. Restart the game and see if it works now.

Good luck!

Hello,

You only have the base game installed? Please re-read the Fix' instructions and note that you MUST install AT LEAST one of the following expansions for the Fix to work: Showtime, Generations, Town Life Stuff, Master Suite Stuff, Pets.

Hi there,

If that's easier for you, why not.
Don't forget to do it this way:

*Backup your savegames

1. Completely remove The Sims 3 and all expansions.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall following these instructions very carefully: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
4. Test the game.

Please let us know the result and good luck!

Hello,

Try to reapply the entire fix according to its installation guide, including the manual patch at step 11.
If you get a note about the patch already being installed, ignore it and install it anyway.

Hello,

After applying this manual patch, it shouldn't show 0.0.0.0 any more (re-apply it): http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v133-fix-manual-patch
Can you confirm this?

If not, please take a screenshot of your launcher.

Hello,

After installing the patch, have a look at the launcher.
Use the "Print Scrn" button to take the screenshot, and you can paste it in paint and save it. The use a site like tinypic or imageshack to upload it.

in previous attempts i did re-install everything but i didn't use different torrents i just used the ones i had saved in utorent and i was still having this problem. could it be my game torrents ? do they maybe need to be updated ?

Hello,

That might be the only solution left. Are your expansions' versions also 0.000 (if you hover your mouse over them)? If it's only the base, you don't have to reinstall everything, just the base.

No if it's the torrents, you'd get an error message during the installationprocess.
Did your game ever work at all?

yes my game used to work perfectly its just since i installed the showtime is when i started getting this error at startup, and i'm not able to hover over anything on the launcher because once the error message pops up stating that there was an error during startup everything behind it is grayed and once i clik ok it shuts out, under the game updates tab is where it says version : o.o.o.o . do you think it's showtime that's giving me this problem ? so i try just uninstalling that and see what happens ?

Hello,

It's worth a try. I'd recommend uninstalling it with youruninstallerpro though, that'll also clear the registry.
