New sims 3 problem

Post by AoD on Fri 08 Jun 2012, 21:54

Ok... crack worked, I started to play... I started new game, I made sims, even pets and I built the house... All was fine until I pressed play... I mean when I let the game go... (Since I paused it in the first sec). After 10 or maybe 15sec, it chrashed with message " A problem caused program to work properly and it needs to close"

Then I tried to play my old saved game (Before I installed pets), and same happened... Sorry... I need help again.... (I'm sorry again)

Hello,

Try this:

1. Go to My Documents\Electronic Arts. You'll see a folder called "The Sims 3".
2. Drag & drop this folder to your Desktop and completely remove it from your Documents folder.
3. Now start the game and start a new neighbourhood. Play for a while and let us know the result.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip... I did as you said, but unfortunately, as soon as I go in live mode, after 15ces, it crashes, with a massage: A problem caused program to stop working.

So... I guess its the same... didn't help... any other ideas?

Couple questions. Are you playing on a laptop, and what expansions or stuff packs do you have installed?

No, I do not play on lap top... I do have Lap top, but I play on desk top, and its not really strong computer, but Sims 3 worked excellent before Pets expansion pack. I have installed:

Sims 3 base; Sims3 Ambitions, Fast lane stuff, Generations, High-End Loft stuff; Late night; Outdoor living stuff; Pets; Town life stuff; World Adventures... It wasn't installed in that order of course... It is installed as it is said in instruction Smile

Did this start happening right after you installed pets? That expansion makes a lot of games laggy, and can even cause crashing on lower end computers. There are a few mods out that can help with it, but since I've gotten rid of Pets altogether, I'm not exactly sure where to find all of them, if you wanted to try that. I could certainly find some for you though.

Yes, crashing started after I installed pets. Before pets, worked excellent, without lag or anything...

I mean I don't really have to have pets, though I kinda wanted to see how it looks... Witch I did... Now I'm afraid to uninstall it... Since I tried that and then, I got problem with asking CD to start the game

Redoing the ultimate fix should solve the disk need once you uninstall.

So your advice is to 7uninstall pets and redo ultimate fix, and simply forget about pets until I get better PC? I don't mind... I just hoped its not the the computer problem... Thanks, I'll try to uninstall pets and see what will happen Very Happy

//EDIT

Ok... I uninstalled sims 3 pets, and redone ultimate fix, and just
played about 30min without crash, so I guess that's it... Thanks for
help all of you... Too bad pets doesn't work on lower end computers Smile

Yeah, I completely understand. I only had pets for about a week because my game was so slow and was barely playable with it.

Do you have any other questions?

That's it... I'm done... Oh one more question... For reasons I do not wish to say (Mainly because it frustrates me) I had to reinstall windows on the PC I'm playing Sisms. Now... Good thing is, I only formatted C drive, and Sims are installed on D drive. DO I have to... do something... Because I really do not wish to reinstall entire Sisms again. I mean... after all, I will do it... If there is no some quicker way Wink

Hello.

When you install the game, new strings in the Registry will also be created and the game will be "integrated" into your system. When you reinstall Windows, all those files will be lost, and your PC won't know that the game is installed on your system.
I recommend removing the files for The Sims 3 you have in the D:\ drive and then reinstall the game.
