How do you fix a sims3.bad file?

Post by Temptesss on Sat 16 Jun 2012, 09:37

Hey I recently uninstalled and re-installed my sims 3 game however I had saved my game file because I was playing it for so long I did not want to loose my town. However I made a mistake and saved the BAD file. Is there any way around this? When I try to play the .sims3.bad file game it crashes. How can I play it again?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Please make a backup of the .bad file and remove the ".bad" extension on the old one. Then restart the game and tell us the result.

Hello,

Just right-click on it and choose "Copy".
Then "Paste" it in another folder. For example your Desktop.

Hello,

Try starting a completely new game and let us know the result.

Hello,

Then I'm afraid the old save is corrupt.
I'm not sure whether it's still possible to fix it. I honestly don't think so, but you could try THIS.

Along with the .bad file, did you have a .backup file?

Hello,

There's no way to actually fix the one with the .bad extension, but if you have the .backup file for your save game, you can probably still save most of your progress.
Just remove the one with the .bad extension from your saves folder, but don't delete it yet, if this simple method doesn't work, there are more things to try.
Once the .bad one has been removed, rename the .backup one. Remove that last part (.backup) and try to load your savegame.
