Sims3Packs Install Question. [SOLVED]

Post by afrobull on Mon 25 Jun 2012, 11:40

Just a few quick questions/problems when going about installing sims3packs.

I've got exactly 427 sims3packs sitting in my launcher that I'd like to install, I've read up on things and I keep hearing that I can only install these in either 200MB increments or "100 file" increments, but having followed these rules the past 3 times, my DCCache folder seems to corrupt itself and a lot of the files never actually seem to end up in my game...

Now I've read this thread here and my first question is, will this allow me to install all my files at once?

And if not, is there a way to make sure that when I install them (I'll probably end up doing files in increments of 5 just to make sure I don't break my DCCache folder) that I don't corrupt my DCCache files?

Hello,

Do you normally use the method described below?

1. Drag & drop all the .Sims3Pack files/objects you want to: (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads
2. Open the The Sims 3 launcher and navigate to the "Downloads" -tab. Click "Select all" and then choose "Install".
3. The launcher will now start to install all the selected updates at once, so you don't need to do them one by one.
4. When you get the "Unofficial game modifications" error, just press "Continue" and the installation will continue.
5. When finished, start the game and... ENJOY using the new objects!

Gotcha, I just wasn't sure if installing them all at once would cause any problems with the game itself, I see that it doesn't. Very Happy

Much appreciated!

Okay, from what I can tell, installing huge batches of Sims3packs at once doesn't cause any major issues (save for the occasional in game lag, but that could just be my computer...) but you may have to double check to make sure that all your installed sims3packs actually "stuck" (you can do this by closing the launcher after installing them, and opening it again) sometimes a few seem to slip through the cracks and you have to reinstall them, but it's nothing major.

Overall, nothing horrible happened to my game, so I don't think anyone else should have cause for concern.

Hello,

If they didn't install correctly, you can always try THIS again or try re-downloading and then re-installing them.

Problem(s) solved now?
