Sims 3 Pets Disfigured

Post by DrKitten on Wed 04 Jul 2012, 09:41

Okay, so the game seems to run perfectly fine. I have all the expansions. (because I'm a completionist, lol) But for some reason, the pets in the game are all mutilated. Their backs are out of whack, their tails are out of place, their faces are stretched/mushed, horses are just general blobs of goo, lol. I tried updating my graphics card drivers, but they're up to date.

Now, I ran Delphy's program. It found duplicates of simcore.package, multiple corrupt DeltaBuild_02.package files and a corrupt DeltaBuild0.package, and conflicts with multiple JazzData.package, gameplay.package, UI.package, GameplayData.package, a few FullBuild.package, and a few DeltaBuild.package. I have no idea what to do, lol. So any help would be appreciated. Very Happy

P.S. I followed the Ultimate fix, except I forgot to install the manual package before putting the Ultimate fix in. So I reinstalled the manual package and re-replaced the cracked files from the ultimate fix. (ONLY THE CRACK FROM THE #CRACK folder.) I don't know if I have to redo them all or not... On another note, I also reinstalled Sims 3 Pets before I did the ultimate fix.

Hello,

What can you tell me about your graphics card? I think it doesn't meet the requirements for Pets.

It just barely met the limits to Sims 3, so if it requires more, then that's probably the problem, lol.

It's an AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60. It has 2.00 GHz. I'm not sure how to get any other specs, but Wikipedia says it has a 35W TDP and 512 KiB L2-Cache per core.

Hello,

If you go here and test specifically for The Sims 3 Pets, it'll tell you if your pc meets the requirements for the expansion.
If it doesn't, I'm afraid there's no way to fix it, sorry.

Hello,

Ok, are you sure you have the latest graphics drivers?
And what is your base game version?

Yes, drivers updated. They're good.
How do I check base game? I'm on version 13.0.62.016001. It's what was downloaded from the manual patch from the fix page.

1.34.27.016017

By the way, thank you so much for your time and effort. I was an idiot earlier and gave you my processor, not graphics card. It's an ATI Radeon X1200. The site you gave me still says my computer should be fast enough for it... By a long shot, too. Which I'm actually quite surprised and happy about, lol.

On another note, I double-checked my drivers for processor and graphics cards... They were up to snuff.

On another another note, I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. It kinda looks like I did.... Noob Sorry.

Hello,

You're welcome.

Hmm ok, how did you check if your drivers were up to date? The device manager is a poor tool.

I went directly to the ATI and AMD sites. Used their programs. I didn't really trust that manager, lol. I was like... There's no way I have this many problems, lol. Got it off my computer as fast as I could...

Oh, and the problems were for stupid things like my mouse and other USB things that shouldn't really affect the game. They all seem to work perfectly fine, so I dunno what the problem is....

Hey... I just had an idea. I have NO IDEA if it has anything to do with it.... But I have Vista 64 bit. Does it matter?

Hello,

That shouldn't really matter that much.
Are you using mods/cc at all?

Uhhh.. Not that I know of, lol. All the downloads are from you guys. I don't know what "ccs" are.

Uhm.... And I just ran dxdiag to find when my drivers were last updated... Apparently it was in 2010... So I guess the program I used to find driver updates was out of date... But I got the program from the ATI site... Ugh... Stupid thing. Looking into it now.

Okay. So I did that and it supposedly updated the driver.... Though dxdiag says I still didn't update it... Whatever. I'm checking the game now...

Soooo.... ATI's site says that laptop graphics drivers can only be handled by the laptop companies.... Aaaaand Toshiba hasn't updated the drivers, apparently. Sooooo I think I'm screwed over on this one. Sorry about all the problems... I tried ATI's program to see if the drivers are up to date, and they supposedly are. Same thing with the program Toshiba gave me...

Looked some stuff up... Apparently my card is not compatible with the game... Which kinda sucks because EA says ATI Radeon X drivers ARE compatible.... Except EA kinda does say it's compatible... I;m so confused...

Hello,

Well, EA is a confusing company I'm afraid.
There also is no fix for this issue and you won't be able to play with normal Pets if your graphicscard isn't supported. There has been an unofficial fix for it, but the site that has the downloadlink is down.
