Ghosts and Gravestones

Post by gypsy.hg on Sat 07 Jul 2012, 19:00

To start, my game, all expansions and store content are from here (thank you) and after reading the directions everything works great. There is one glitch that I haven't yet found a cause or solution. My Sims are able to interact with most ghosts in the graveyard and also able to move gravestones. There is one ghost that i was previously able to move her gravestone and could "call over" but with no further options. Yesterday I decided I wanted her gravestone on my lot and I can't move it! I can no longer "call over" either; no interactions available.

What happened and is this a problem anyone else is having? I've read many threads online about various ghost glitches, however this seems ghost specific as my Sims can interact with the remaining dead.

Thank you!

Hello,

I'm not sure, I've never done anything with ghosts except for placing the stones for deceased family members.
Can you move it with testingcheatsenabled true which allows you to build/buy on a lot other than your own? You could move the tombstone to your lot that way.

I restarted and was able to move the stone, however my interactions with the ghost are still limited. I can "call over" and another sim can "ask to pose". Nothing further. So strange!

Hello,

That is weird. Have you tried resetting the ghost?

It seems I've had to do a lot of resetting of Sims lately. But that's another story. Resetting didn't change my interactions, however one of my elder sims died (finally, I had 7!) and I was able to bring her ghost back and she moved in with us. Since that was my ultimate goal, I'm pleased. Still weird, but I'm happy.

Could an unrelated ghost sim be stuck maybe? Maybe I'll look into it again later. Thank you for helping Smile

Hello,

No idea! Perhaps that particular ghost wasn't meant to interact with.
