Unofficial Game Modification Error.[SOLVED]

Post by paulina848 on Sat 14 Jul 2012, 18:13

:newfag:
Hello,
I have installed Sims 3 Showtime yesterday, I updated the game and used the ultimate fix cracks, carefully following the instructions.
From the start I have been getting an error that says 'It looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of The Sims 3. We recommend that you either uninstall these game modifications or get updated versions of them - otherwise you may experience crashes or significant bugs. Do you want to quit?'
Today I decided to try again and re-install the base game and expansion packs (late night and showcase) then downloaded the updated ultimate fix and the manual patch.
I still get the same error. I ran out of ideas, what should I do? I want to play my game. Please help.. Crying or Very sad

Hello,

This error can be caused by an outdated crack, but also by mods. Are you using any?

I'm using the crack from the updated ultimate fix. And yes I do use Mods however everything has been working perfectly before I installed Showcase Wat.

Hello,

Most mods will have to be updated with each new game version.
Is the error still there if you (temporarily) drag&drop the mods folder on your desktop and then start the game?

When I removed the Mods folder I didn't get an error anymore! Very Happy Sorry, I didn't know it could be something as simple causing this error. Thank you!

Is there any way to find which file should be removed? Or do I have to delete them all?

Hello,

No just test them a few at a time. You can normally get new versions if a patch has been released.

Most of them are package files like clothes and skins. But I have one slider mod so it might be that. I'll try and check them out! Thank you for your help Smile

Hello,

Clothes and skins usually don't cause problems, my bet is on the slider.

I deleted the slider and got no more errors Smile

Meretzki, you should of moved your 'Saves' into a different folder so you don't lose your families.. I can't help you, but I'm sure these guys will! Good luck!

Hello,

Please open a new topic. Your family is safe, don't worry, but for better support, it's easier if we discuss it in a new topic.
