Re: A question :).[SOLVED]

The only ways I really know are the things I'm using to decrease the file size. Using master controller and disabling memories, and making the population size shrink. I'm not too sure, but restricting travels may also help, since those create other pieces in the file.

Hello,

That's something you could keep under control with Story Progression, which allows you to have a population cap and, for example, control how many children sims should have.

Hello,

This is a direct downloadlink to the base mod. It takes some time to learn how to work it, since there are many interactions, which can be read about here.

Edit: I may be on to something regarding your save game! I'm still attempting to clean it up and I'll report back later.

Another edit: I managed to load the save! It took 45 minutes Shocked to load, but eventually it loaded and I managed to save your family and the house to the bin! Then I proceeded to save all inhabitants into a porter family. I've already started a new game, and placed the house, then my husband needed the computer, so anyway, I'll porter all sims to the new game later this afternoon. All your neighbourhood relationships should be preserved!

Hello,

The suggestions invalidusername has given are really good. Using errortrap can help. And it's probably a good idea to backup your save games every once in a while, depending how often you play, once a week or once a month.
If you do get error 12 again, you can go to a backup save and porter everyone to a new neighbourhood.

I finally finished. Your family is in the same spot you left them since I put the house there with them, then unpacked the porter family. If all went well, your neighbourhood relationships should be in tact. The rest of the sims are scattered, you may want to move them around a bit.
I should mention that your furnishings may be a little different since you have stuffpacks I don't have so I got a note that some items had to be replaced.
The savegame folders can be downloaded here, just unrar and they can be put in your saves folder.

If anything's off, let me know and I'll see if I can fix it!

Edit: I forgot to mention that I placed a new sim in the neighbourhood, since Porter requires to start a game with a new sim that can not be present in the porter family, prior to unpacking the porter family. So I added the Lady ElDi sim lol.

Hello,

I'm going to guess they'll have to start at career level 1 again, though you could probably fix that with Master Controller if you want to.
How's everything else with your sims? All relationships etc. ok?

Hello,

Master Controller > Intermediate > Career > Level
You'll need the cheats module for Master Controller to do it.

Hello,

It's this module. You'll also need the Master Controller base mod.

Hello,

The size of the save game.
It's probably unrelated to the files' size, have a look here.

Hello,

You can switch to boost before starting your game, or rightclick on the icon you normally start The Sims with and pick "run with gamebooster" from the menu that appears.

And lowered all in-game graphics and extras like "Mirror reflection"? If yes, maybe your PC just can't handle the game.
