Can't change OPTIONS?! [SOLVED]

Hello, games4theworld! I recently reinstalled Sims 3. When I opened up to the game and change my options, it won't change! 
First I wanted to change the screen resolution because my Windows 7 laptop is too big for the actual screen. But then, it won't budge and the other options as well.
I tried removing mods but it doesn't work.

Do you own the game? Because a torrented base game doesn't work right with the most current crack without one of the following: Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry, Showtime, Master Suite, Pets, Town Life or Generations.

Err yeah... and whenever I shift to my desktop, a notification (from my video card, I think) says something about optimal resolution thingy. Please help. The game is being laggy too.

Hello,
Go to the manufacturers website, they usually have a tool that lets you select your cards make&model and your OS and they'll tell you whether or not it needs to be updated after a short scan.

If you can't find them, just let me know what your graphic card's model is, what operating system you're on and whether it's a 32-bit or a 64-bit system. I'll then find the correct driver for you.

If possible, choose "Custom" and then "Clean installation" during the installation.

Hello, I did not have any chance to choose custom installation because it didn't say anything. But other than that, it installed successfully.
