The inventory and crashes

Post by Rawaria on Mon 13 Aug 2012, 23:25

Well this wasn't a problem in the beginning. But now whenever I try to put something else than a newspaper, pet toys, guitar or such like my sculpturing... I am not able to move it to my inventory. So how am I suppose to be able to complete my opportunities? Likewise When I get an opportunity like making a serving and dropping it off or harvest something for other sims to drop of, even though I am able to put it in my inventory it doesn't show that I have actually and therefore I am not able to drop it off.
Now is there any solution to this?

Also my game tends to crash but I expected that since it is a downloaded torrent. But is there a solution?

Hello,

First of all, where did you get this idea that torrented games can be expected to crash? Crashing is a very common problem that occurs just as often for people who are only using legal games. Just look around the forum at sims3.com, not only do those people experience crashes, they experience the same types of crashes for the same reasons. That a crack or a torrented game is likely to crash is something you are told to deter you from downloading it. Only after spending considerate amounts of money, you'll find it still crashes. Anyway, you can try a couple of things to remedy it, look here.

As for your inventory problem, that one is new to me. Are you using mods/cc?

No, nothing. I have only been playing for less than a week and I have no mods or cc. At first this wasn't a problem, Everything worked fine with the inventory and I could deliver cookies and served dishes without a problem. But then about two days ago it stopped working properly. Also the the graphics got a bit worse, as in if I zoom a bit from the sims the hair changes and the furry dogs loose their fur until I zoom back.

I have a brand new lap top and it handles other games really well. So I wonder what the problem is. I also installed the game exactly after the instructions here so I am lost.

Hello,

The Sims 3 is, unfortunately, a buggy game.
Which expansions do you have and what is your base game version?

Hello,

And what's your game version? Did you also use the fix?

Game version? I don't really know honestly.
But yes... I used the fix.

And now the other day something else happened. I decided to start a new save and try to something new. So this time I let my sim be a singer. Everything was working fine until I think around the point the sim aged up. Then suddenly I couldn't perform sim-a-gram (don't remember what it is calls) and I couldn't perform a show.

I think the other stuff also happened around the time one of my sim aged up.

If your not using and CC (Custom Content) and your game is updated to the latest 1.36 patch then it sounds like a bad save game. Tyr this to resolve the problem.

Back up your save game(s) to a safe location (i.e. the desktop)

Go to C:/Users/User_Name/My Documents/Electronic Arts/ and delete the Sims 3 Folder.

Launch the game and give it time to regenerate the Sims 3 folder in My Documents then create a new game. Test to see if you are still having that issue. If the game works correctly then copy your save game(s) back the the saves folder and test. (Note: If you have more than one save game do this one save game at a time)
