Tried Everything to get The Sims 3 working on Retina MacBook

Post by 999chris on Sat 18 Aug 2012, 11:31

Hello All,

I've seemed to have tried every combination to get the Sims 3 working.

The only time I've been able to "see" a game is when I downloaded the base version that is all zipped up (Its on here somewhere), that got me all the way to the title screen. I could even install all the expansion packs, excluding World Adventures (incorrect region???) all the way up to Pets, where I then installed the 1.36 patch allowing me to install the rest up to Showtime. However after applying the crack in ultimate fix I would always get error "Unkown Error Occured", this happened when I installed ALL the expansions I could, just ambitions and just generations. Same error. I even modified the .xml file that points the app to "SimsLauncher.exe" to load "TS3W.exe" instead. But then I would get an initilisation error with a code (I'm sorry I didn't note it down).

Anyway, what I'm asking here is anyones experience with Retina MBP if any, and maybe more suggestions for things I could try.

Cheers
