Problem installing on Mac

Post by pirouette_23 on Mon 03 Sep 2012, 20:03

Thank you so much Games4theworld for all of your downloads and for the support you provide! I have always used a PC for playing the Sims 3 but recently got a Mac desktop that is more powerful and hopefully will be a better platform for playing. Unfortunately, I've been trying to install now for more than 24 hours with no success. I've read virtually everything in the forum, but nothing seems to address my problem or the information is outdated. I'm hoping that someone can give me an easy solution. Thank you in advance.
I installed the base game (purchased from retailer) and have downloaded all of the expansion packs and stuff packs from Games4theworld. (I actually purchased World Adventures through EA download manager, now Origin, but cannot get Origin to download onto the mac.) Anyway, I changed that value thing from 1 to 2 and that fixed the issue of the region codes, but every time that I try to install any of the expansions or stuff packs (have tried: Master Suite Stuff, World Adventures, and Late Night) I get the error message that the version of the Sims 3 is not updateable and the application closes. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you again!

Oh, for playing games you should really stick to PC's!
Anyhow, try this manual patch first:
After using it, try to install the expansions again.

Let us know the result and good luck!
