New Neighborhoods (Sunlit Tides, Moonlight Falls) Have No Families?

Post by nothingsgonnachange on Sat 08 Sep 2012, 05:32

Hi. So I recently downloaded both Sunlit Tides and Supernatural. I tried sunlit tides a few weeks ago and was surprised when it didn't have any families in it because I thought it was a populated world. After downloading Supernatural, I have the same problem with Moonlight Falls: the town is completely empty and I know there should be families there.

I'm running Sims 3 on Windows 7 64-bit, and I have installed everything correctly (to my knowledge). Has this happened to anyone else? I'm not sure what mod I have that would be causing this. I tend to stick to just NRAAS and those have all been updated for the latest patch.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had no problems when installing Sunlit Tides but when I finally got Supernatural installed I too have no existing families. I am going to try and uninstall then reinstall since I now know what caused the problem with my Supernatural install.(Forgot to yank my downloads and mods folders and had some incompatibles)

Update: Well I completely uninstalled Supernatural, yanked my entire Sims 3 doc folder, and then reinstalled SN. Still not seeing any playable families in Moonlight Falls. Kinda frustrating but nothing I can't deal with. I am going to try completely re-downloading SN and reinstalling it one more time. Wish me luck!!

Hello,

Try it without the mods anyway.

Okay, so I removed my Sims 3 documents folder, redownloaded Supernatural, reinstalled and then started up the game. Everything smooth so far. At this point, Sunlit Tides is no longer showing because I allowed the game to generate a new folder. Started a new game in Moonlight Falls, same result: No pre made families showing. Exited Moonlight Falls and went into the other worlds, they no longer have playable families.
I do not use any core mods so I don't think that is a factor.

The first time I tried installing SN and had issues I attempted to use the Ultimate fix, to resolve the issue. That is the only thing that I have done differently from any of the other installations I have gotten from this fantastic website.
My question is, if I some how managed to mess up applying the fix could it have corrupted the entire game file?

I am currently contemplating doing a complete uninstall of my entire Sims 3 game and then reinstalling. Not the ideal way to spend my weekend but I am notorious for my patience so its not to bad! LOL!!

I am hoping someone has a clue to point us in the right direction.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hello,

We're actually hijacking someone else's topic here, so please open your own topic if you run into more problems.
I'm not sure what could be causing your problem, Ghostwrytr, does it also stay like that when you remove SN? (If not, please open your own topic and let us know more)
If yes, reinstallation may do, since you're patient.

Hi there, I went into edit town mode and you could see them and then went out and they were there. However, the game crashed on me anyway. One time when I was selecting a household and the other when I tried to send a sim to the library. I pulled the world from my game.
