Manual Patch problem

Post by Beef sticks on Sat 08 Sep 2012, 11:01

Ok so I was doing the Ultimate fix (I downloaded the latest version of the fix) and now I have to update to patch 1.38. I'm on 1.36 right now and after updating the Invalid File showed the up. I went to Plan B and went to download the manual patch. I opened the link and when the download bar on the bottom of Google Chrome showed up, I left it for a few minutes. When I returned I saw that nothing was downloading. The ETA was there but nothing was being downloaded.

Just one question. It says I should remove mods. So should I remove the Worlds as well?

You get an invalid file error during updates because it checks your files, since they'll be patched it leads to this error.

Mods shouldn't be a concern during patches, so try re-downloading the patch again with a different browser.

Hello,

Are you 101% sure you used EXACTLY the manual patch from the link in step 2 of this topic: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly ?
Because if you use that one, it's almost impossible to get that error!

Hello,

It looks like he didn't, judging by his last post.
So my recommendation is to get the one from Admin's link and use that.
It is also recommended to remove mods before making any changes such as patching or installing a new pack. There's a good chance you'll need updated versions anyway, after patching. Just mods though, there's no need to remove your sims3packs as well.

No I used the Alternate Method. I had problems downloading the Manual Patch as I said before. It was not downloading!
