Sims 3 bug

Post by rawrkarixx on Tue 28 Dec 2010, 05:07

So I finally successfully started to play Sims 3 and I downloaded the EA download manager along with getting the latest Sims 3 update. I made my family and built my house. Once I started to play though, every now and then it would freeze and my screen would go blank. Then it would return but the lighting would be a bit dark and the configuration of my mouse would be messed up. Also when I try to wait it out, it just freezes. I had to force quit it. I tried quitting it, waiting it out then starting it back up but it still did the same thing. I made two families since the first family I made had the same problem, but it never passed. Someone please help me!

Hello,

Looks like an EA problem. First Update your Graphic Card's drivers to the latest version, restart your PC and then see if it works.
If that didn't work the latest version of the Game should fix the problem for you:

1. Completely uninstall The Sims 3   All expansions.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall The Sims 3. DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
4. Install WA.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
5. Install HELS.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
6. Install Ambitions.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
7. Install Fast Lane Stuff.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
8. Install Late Night.* DO NOT APPLY THE CRACKS!
9. Update the launcher to the latest version.
10. Apply these updated Cracks: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/fixes-f18/the-sims-3-latest-cracks-download-t656.htm
11. The Game should work fine now.

* = Optional

Are you sure this isn't a system issue, rather then an install issue?

In other terms, is your computer up to snuff on (system) updates, and does it meet the system requirements?

If so, then I'd do as the admin says, and be sure that the install goes smoothly.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Please check this link to be sure that your PC can run the Game: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/
It sounds similar to the EA problems, (Blank screen, crashing etc.) but these problems should be solved by Installing the latest version. (Only needed to Install Late Night)

Is this directed at me?

I can run it, however as I said on my issue, I have a pop-up that tells me to uninstall mods. I'm waiting patiently for the next set of cracks.

I'm a techie (kinda) and have several computers. I just thought I'd try to help.
Didn't mean to give the wrong impression that I too was having this issue.
