All countries have good and bad stuff, but I agree with you Lady about security issue, it is the main problem in NY.
And Kim, nope, I don't have a boyfriend now, and I am happy currently. It's better be alone than having a chaotic relationship Smile I am saving myself for NY lol :p

I didn't think it was that normal to have a boyfriend if you live in Turkey. I've never been there, but the Turks in this country don't exactly give the impression that it's OK to have a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.

What?! It is really funny to hear for me, sorry Lady El. Because we are no more different than your country or France, people can have girlfriends or boyfriends, and even they can move in with them, without marrying. I don't know whom making this irrational comments about Turks anyway. When someone I talk ask me "You ride camels there?" I wanna laugh and cry at the same time and can't know how to tell crazy bubble parties or the venues with elegant shopes surrounded with skyscrapers and crazy night life. So I only say yes, we ride camels Smile

LOL!

Well I live in a neighbourhood that's home to many Turks and my daughter has 3 Turkish kids in her class. Their mothers are covered head to toe wearing a headscarf and a long coats that reach their ankles, showing only face and hands. Girls usually start dressing themselves like this from the age of 14. Before we moved, she had 8 (out of 12 total) Turkish kids in her class and their families were all alike except 1.
Turks in this country are well known for being vengeful if their wife/daughters "honor" has been violated and they are also well known for being vengeful if bride is thought not to have been a virgin. Young men and women definitely don't live together before marriage and they're not supposed to be alone together. They are well known for being very conservative.
Perhaps these Turks are more old fashioned than the ones in Turkey Laughing

I'm not very presumptuous usually, my husband is from Morocco so we get our fair share of stereotypical questions.
it does seem weird to me that the Turks here are so different than the ones in your home country.
By the way, my husbands relatives do ride camels lol!

I hear that too, I believe imigrant Turks are with low profile, not educated enough and too stiff about their traditions. I think it is about living in a different country and they are afraiding of losing their own traditions etc.
But in any way, we don't live like them here. I've seen many European countries and I can say objectively my life isn't different than the girls at the same age in other countries.
I wish one day people could understand religious isn't about the clothes you wearing or most of all, hurting each other, but living in peace and harmony and love others.
Btw, I love camels, why people mention them as they are evil? Once I rode one during a mediterrean trip and he was so stupid and cute ^^
Did you ride a camel during a familiy visit Lady?

Hi there,

I rode a camel a few times, hahaha. Sounds very stupid when I say it like that.
Oh and, at least we've got the Turkish pizza here.

I've never been there unfortunately. Not yet. But I will and I will also ride a camel hahaha. Looking forward to it actually.

Oh don't get me wrong though. I don't mind how people dress, they can dress however they want, as far as I'm concerned. I don't mind how they live their life either. I guess I just assumed that the people here are a fair representation to the way of life there. Maybe not.
I know Moroccans here aren't that different from the people there, especially the 2nd generation and up.

I can imagine the need to hold on to traditions. Especially since a number of (loud) politicians seem to want them (immigrants) assimilated rather than adapted. As if your individuality is threatened. Personally I feel that if you make an effort to speak the language and (try to) get a job, you're adapted. Some here seem to think that you're not adapted until you try to be exactly like their idea of a perfect Dutch person.

No,
not problem. You just said a general thought of common people that have

LOL I think your reaction on Turkish Pizza is about the same a Chinese would say about our Babi Pangan. Like, dude, what is that?
I guess I never looked further because I just assumed. I know many Turkish people here who are exactly the way I described them to you and what all of them have in common is a love for their country and that they defend their rights to their own traditions vigorously. Most of them anyway. And especially the "old fashioned" types (and thus, old fashioned traditions perhaps?). Why look up on wikipedia what you can get out of the horses' mouth? But ah, well, now I realize I've just been listening to the wrong horse. Well thanks for setting me straight anyway and I hope there are no hard feelings.

Not at all Lady El, I am glad to have that conversation with you and dear Admin who prefers to torture us with not uploading the Season Razz
We can only learn better with talking, and sharing things. I've never been The Netherlands, but I'd love to. One of my cousins married a girl from there, and I love her dearly, she has a such high spirit. Btw; she shared same the thoughts about Turkey and when she got here, she said she couldn't believe her eyes.
But still she is saying to her friends there that we ride camels for joking. I think she got all te things from the first place, lol.

Haha.
Well we get that too. I'm a little conservative myself when it comes to clothing for example. You won't find me wearing high heels, shorts/skirts (above the knee) or showing any cleavage at all. I'll wear a bathingsuit, but you won't catch me in a bikini. People naturally assume that my husband won't let me. Because he's from Morocco. Poor me lol.
Actually, he's a breeze compared to the guys I was used to Laughing

Sometimes I do make good use of that kind of presumption that he's probably in charge around here. For example with door to door salesmen that won't take "no" for an answer. I just tell them that "well, my husband makes those kind of decisions so I really can't give you an answer right now, bye bye!".

Lol, a smart woman.
It's get so tiring after some time, answering all questions that people think about you. It is always easier to say yes Smile
Well, I love high heels, and bikinis, but only when their times come. I don't like the girls wandering around in hig heels and mini skirts, and acts like barbies.

I'm just someone who goes for comfort. Besides I'm 33, I used to wear all that stuff when I was 20 and I apparently gave some people the wrong impression so I figured out I like modest, comfortable clothing much more.
And I always was a tomboy when I was growing up so I never really got used to wearing "girly" clothes. That led to a few awkward situations Laughing

Lol, likewise. I love sneakers a lot, I can hardly be away from them. Still, community thinks that I should wear heels right now as I am no longer a student :/ I loved being a student, it means being lazy and being alive at the same time. I could sleep back just because I didn't wanna get up for school. Now, there is no sick day off for me, and of course for you.

Though, I should stop complaining, I am not the one who has two kids already, and the thir on the way ^^

Ah but they are a blessing. And so is being a stay at home mother. I am my own boss, I decide what I'll do and when. As long as the kids are taken care of I have no problem getting back in bed when I'm not feeling well.

hey i'm a mom and i wear heels Smile i like it it makes me feel more confident and sexy :p even i'm not wearing skurts i think high heels with a slim for example is sexy but not too sexy if know what i mean ^^

i like to be a pretty mommy for my son - sometimes he tells me i'm beautiful like the sky!!! lol

and also i like wearing jogging and sneakers on the weekend but the thing is in Nantes, where i live, people do extremely care about their clothes even the weekend so if i want to go out i must be well dressed Sad if not i feel like a hobo...

Hey! did you play seasons? Wanna talk about it? Very Happy I want your impressions!!

I only wear high heels when I have a party. And I always regret it lol. Comes with the physical condition. But it doesn't bother me, I don't really care about feeling sexy since it doesn't make me feel confident lol.

I haven't really played Seasons much myself. I finished downloading the torrent yesterday evening at around 9, because I turn the computer off during the night. Then I installed it, cracked it, installed the LE edition content for testing (which takes about 20 minutes as well), then started the game and played for about.. 5 sim-hours so I just had time to have them make and eat dinner and get all 8 of them to bed in time. Then I saved, quit, reported my findings about the LE content, and went to bed Laughing

I'm about to test the content again, since it didn't work. And it seems that yes, my pc can indeed run the game with Seasons, which is a relief. But I've been unable to experience the EP yet. I'll probably get to it tonight after the kids go to bed.

Yes, the other content is already here, but Admin doesn't have the ice lounge yet. I'm testing it in a few moments.

Welcome back Kim, and hello Lady ElDi!

Site was deserted after Seasons! Very Happy Generall I liked it, I mean it is now lose to normal life, with weather changes, not always shiny and bright. But still, I'd love to see more changes in game. Don't know yet, but I will figure it out after playing more.

And Kim, awww, your son is cute when he says you're beautiful like the sky ^^ I lode kids, I wish we've never grown up, being kid is always better, with that maturity, and that excitement for everything. albino
