Installer was created with TextEdit... WHAT?

Post by TCPCohen on Tue 20 Nov 2012, 13:50

I was going to install the High-End Loft Stuff pack and when double-clicking on installer, it says it was created with a TexEdit application so I can not open it now. Why is that?

Yes, I did. That's why I don't understand this.

That is strange...

Maybe you can try to open it with the cider window running?
Go to your Sims 3 game, right click > show package contents > contents > macOS > right click "cider" and choose Open With Terminal

Leave that window running while you try to open the installer again

I'm having the same and that terminal thing didn't help. I'm having the same problem with Supernatural, Master suite, Town life, Katy Perry, Pets, Late Night and High End. Other stuff and expansions packs I just got installed nicely, all downloaded from here and made .dmg:s.

Edit: I also applied the crack from Ultimate Fix and the game works just nicely, no sign of any error. But because I'm greedy, I want all the expansions to work! Oh please someone get this to work.

Edit number 2: After some cry-hit-and-kick -feels I decided to download Master suite stuff again and make a new dmg, and suddenly it worked. I'm downloading the other problematics right now, going to see tomorrow if they work as easily too!
How I wish this could work, I'm basicly widow now when my boyfriend works like 16 hours per day and I have all the days to spend by myself. Sims would be such a good way to waste spend my time.

Edit 3: No use. Got all the expansions and stuff packs now installed aaaaand it gives me this 0x024e424f error. No help with ultimate fix at all. What the heck is wrong with this annoying game!

Hello Jassie,

Next time, please open a new topic for us to reach you instant.

And that error is supposed to be with wrong cracking. Are you sure you read all steps from here and applied it correctly. I suggest you to take a look at steps, I am sure there is something you didn't see before.

Good luck!
