Please insert game disc problem?

Post by NorthByNorthwest on Sun 25 Nov 2012, 18:57

Hello, so I'm new to cracking games. Thanks a lot for uploading all of the Sims 3 games, it's much appreciated! Very Happy Anyway, I sort of have a problem. I downloaded The Sims Seasons torrent, and it installed fine, and I put in that TSLHost and the other file in the folder as specified, base game one, and I tried to launch it, but it says "Please insert game disc". I installed the mega fix thing, and took the files in the folder and tried to place them in the folder, but it's not giving me permission to replace the files in there. I'm logged on as administrator, so what can the problem be?

Hello,

To make things easier, just restart your PC and try again.
It's caused by your launcher still being opened in the background.

Right, I'm trying that now. For the life of me, I can't remember where I put my Ultimate Fix file, so I'm downloading it again. I tried a few months ago to download The Sims 3 Pets, but it won't accept any serial codes, calling them invalid. I did download the fixed version, though.

EDIT: Uh, problem. I got the files in all fine and dandy, but when I open the Launcher and click play, it disappears and no game launches.

Try running the game from the installation directory, usually being C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. From there, run TSW3.exe and it should start the game without the launcher.

That doesn't seem to help either. Is it because my real Sims 3 game (I bought that, and Ambitions and Generations) was bought by me online in Origin Games? Thus instead I go to Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > The Sims 3, instead of Electronic Arts.

Well purchasing some of the game is defnitely not the reason you're getting that message.

This error is caused by a misplaced crack. In order to fix it, you might want to re-check the included “# Installation Guide.txt” file that come with all our downloads, on where exactly to put the crack. Note that for The Sims 3, the crack goes into: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin AND NOT C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 [Expansion name]\Game\Bin !
Also, to be sure you’ve got the latest available and working crack and download and apply our Ultimate Fix, which can be found here . Read the included instructions VERY carefully and you should be able to get the game to work yourself. (More information and help can be found here

Well, you see, my base game Sims 3 folder is in Origin Games, not Electronic Arts. Those are the cracks with expansion packs I've downloaded. For the life of me I can't get it to work! I've installed The Sims Medieval and it was all okay, but I really don't know why it's acting up now, and I'm positive I have the latest version of all.

When referring to Base Game when you have a Origin copy put the files/cracks in C:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin since that is where your Base Game is located, when referring to a expansion you bought through Origin change those also, if needed.

Edit: Removed the 2nd \Bin, since it's wasn't correct.

I got the files from the Ultimate Fix, and put them in that folder - you did been the second bin and not the first bin, right? I opened the Launcher and The Sims Seasons thing at the bottom wasn't selected like before, and it still won't launch.

Hello,

No, you have to put them in the first bin, so not bin\bin: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin (Folder with a lot of other folders and files, that is the correct one!)

This is what I get when I click on the Electronic Arts folder.

And this is my Origin Games folder - so my Ultimate Fix stuff should go in The Sims 3 folder here, right? That's what I've been doing.

Wait what, why did I say \Bin\Bin. O.o Anyway I edited that message to remove it.

Yes, it should go into Origin Games\The Sims 3 folder.

Hello,

In that case, please put the crack in this folder instead: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin

I opened the launcher, got this, and The Sims 3 Seasons thing isn't lit up, which is a bad thing - it was earlier, before I put in the bin/bin thing. I deleted the files there. I tried to launch the game both from the launcher and the TS3.exe, no luck with both.

You deleted what files there?

Can you do a screenshot of the Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin?

Also @Admin, shouldn't it be Origin Games instead of Origin?

Here's the top part of it:

And the bottom:

Also, I meant I deleted the two files I put in bin/bin and moved them to that folder above. Which I've really been doing, but doesn't seem to work.

Hello,

Ah I see the problem here. You don't have the crack in place. In stead, you've mistaken the files from the Seasons&Supernatural&Diesel Stuff&etc. for the crack.
Open your fix and find the #crack folder. Open it and copy both files to the folder in your screenshot. Let them overwrite the ones in there and you're done.

It worked beautifully, but now in the middle of loading, it says, "The Sims 3 has stopped working" and has to be closed - in other words, it freezes. I'm pretty sure it's not my CC, because I've loaded those files tons of times before.

Hello,

Just to be sure, please back up and remove this folder completely: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\

Turned out that it was actually my mods that weren't on the proper patch level. Thank you!
