few questions about using the sims 3+ cc magic. [SOLVED]

1. during starting to play it asks if we want to log in or continue without it.
what will be the difference ? (usually we choose without).

2. after we in the game, when we choose 'open download dash board' it ask for membership, can we do it?

3. installed the cc magic program. I'm still learning by reading the users guide (not so simple...). one thing i already noticed is that all of me downloads disappear from it's folder. i think i read it sould be like that (?).
another thing is when i open the installs in the game launcher all the content is bold and the only option available is 'uninstall' . is it because that all of them are now in cc magic? and how i install new staff i got from mediafire?

edit:
4. do i have to open cc magic every time i log into windows or game, or just when i need to do some changes with the program?

Not sure about 2 and 3, but you can turn off all of the online interaction stuff in the options and it'll never ask you again.

If you don't have any registered games, there won't really be much of a difference, and personally I don't like logging in, even with registered games. You have an extra notification box in the upper right, that you can't get rid of, that's just letting you know you're online.

I would recommend uninstalling everything but sims and worlds from your launcher, and installing them using ccmagic. Unless you don't have the original sims3pack files anymore.

You're correct in that your downloads should disappear from your downloads folder. When ccmagic loads up, it takes the files out of that folder and moves them to it's own version of a downloads folder. To install new things, you just put them in your downloads folder, and open up ccmagic.

You don't need to open it every time. Personally, I open it to use some other functions on it, but I run my game through a shortcut, and all of my content stays in-game. You just need to make sure that you rebuild before exiting if you made any changes, or else they don't show up in-game. Smile

1. understood.

2. after entering seasons, before entering to your sims town, and also after entering town, in the menu options there is an option called 'open download dashboard'.

3.first. cc magic already took installs, so i don't understands why they (or maybe part of therm) are in the launcher 'installs'.
how can i assure that if I'll uninstall all of them from launcher they still be in cc magic and in the game(it took us a lot of time to install them and it's hard to tell if we will have all of them because it's lot of items... ).
i still have the original sims 3 packs, but i don't understand why i should have them in this context.

4. "make sure that you rebuild before exiting if you made any changes, or else they don't show up in-game".
do you mean by that that i have to do it after making changes in the game (for this there is game ' save' ,isn't it?, or just changes concerning new installs?
i understand that for the rebuild function i have to open cc magic.

2. I believe that opens your shop history for the sims 3 store items. I'm not entirely sure though. I'm getting ready to play for a bit, so I'll let you know what I find out about that. Smile

3. If you have all the sims3packs for what you have installed, then they should be installed in ccmagic.
You could always cross-check and compare what has and hasn't been installed, if you had the time or patience for it.
What's in the launcher was probably previous installs. Those don't go away unless you uninstall them.

4. I just meant if you download anything new or change something in ccmagic. The way it makes your cc work in-game is by creating a package file for the game to read. If you don't rebuild, then the game will still use the old package file.

2. can you please tell me the advantage we'll have by uninstalling the installs from launcher?
i mean if ,for being on the safe side, I'll leave those installs in launcher , it'll make some disadvantages, like slowing the game?

2. Really, the only thing I'm thinking of with this is that you may have duplicates in your game. It may slow it down a little, but probably not much.

i just have another question (that will save opening new topic Very Happy ) concerning emails we get like- "we've successfully uploaded the new, fixed Greenhouse .Sims3Pack file to our official MediaFire account now:".

if i already installed Greenhouse, is that means that i have to reinstall it ? and will it overwrite the existing version?

actually it's my daughter who is playing.
I'm not sure if she checked all those bugs mentioned in the mail we received . we will try it later.
but we received several emails of the kind and i would like to learn anyway how to uninstall/remove those things from cc magic.

Alongside the enable/disable buttons, there should also be a delete button.

All you do is select what you want to uninstall, and click that. Smile

o/k it worked.
i saw it before, but it was 'grey'.
now i realize that i had first to choose it.
i guess it'll take me some time to learn how to use the program, at least the basic actions. (i was near to give up and return to the previous state, but i didn't save all of my store downloads so i guess I'll have to stay with it and learn Smile).
next thing i want to try is arranging items by subject etc. and how to define which we use more frequently , and those who not.

hello.
i installed the fixed greenhouse file.
saw it in sims 3 downloads.
opened cc magic and choose rebuild.
the greenhouse file disappeared from downloads but i couldn't find it in cc magic sets. (i searched it by alphabetical order since i saw that all the sets appears like that).
tried to close and open again cc magic, didn't help.
can someone guide me?

one of the things i wish will be added to this program is a search/find option, since scrolling is quiet slow there.

i have another question.
when we get notice like this: "The Sims 3 Store Fixes updated!" , is it recommended to update it ? or if the game works fine better not to deal with it? ( i read the Installation Guide of the fix and it sound a bit complicated, at list to me Facepalm )

Hello,

I think you'll have to install lots with the launcher, cc magic doesn't process lots or worlds.

The store fixes are recommended to be updated, but only if you installed new objects. The store fixes are updated when new premium content is released by EA.

It's good that you kept your final question in the same topic. I'm not sure what you mean by creating mods. most people don't create mods. If you want to use mods however, one thing to keep in mind is compatibility. Not all mods will play nice with each other. Especially if they are core-mods. If you're thinking about using specific mods to alter gameplay aspects, it's probably a good idea to get them all from the same creator. Do you have something specific in mind?
If you will use mods, I think it's a good idea to keep a list of your mods and each mod's creator's website so that you can easily check for updates after there has been a game update. If you don't plan to use a lot of mods, you may not have to manage your mods. I never do since I only use a few and all but 3 are from the same creator.

there is still strange thing happening.
as i said, before uninstalling greenhouse, i saw it in cc magic.
tried now to install it with the launcher , the processes went fine.
after starting ccmagic it disapeare from downloads folder and from 'downloads' tab in the launcher ( it do shows in launcher 'installed content' tab), but i still can't find it in ccmagic .
one thing i'm sorry about is that i didn't save all of my downloads before installing cc magic. maybe it's a bit Rash of me to say it , but i still can't see the benefits of this program (o.k maybe it because we didn't arranged yet items to groups etc. , as recommended).

about the mods thing, i must to admit that i still don't understand what is exactly a mod.
we thought it is something that you modifying/creating during the game and then save it and use it.
now i see that it's something you import from outside.
can you give me a link or something, just that i can see an example ?

Hello,

There are many different types of mods. Mostly, they change one or more aspects of gameplay. Some are minor, for example this one. I've been using that particular mod for a long time now.

Other mods are much more complicated. This one for example overhauls the entire traveling system. It takes care of a number of issues with the original traveling system, as well as adds a whole lot of options. For example, this mod allows you to take your pets, babies, toddlers and pregnant sims on vacation, but it'll also allow you to use every installed world as a vacationworld and even live in the EA vacationworlds.

Another mod by the same creator overhauls the way the other sims in town progress.

o.k i see.
so after downloading the mod just put it in: my doc./ea/ts3/mods ?
i saw that inside 'mods' folder i have 'Cache' and 'Packages' folders.
the 'Cache' folder have other folders inside ('config' and 'sets').
both of them have content which i think belong to the mods subject (although i don't think i Consciously installed any of them). and also when the game starts, in the main menu it says: "mod scripts found".
can you please tell me where exactly should i put them?

Hello,

The mods go into the packages folder. The cache folder is cc magic, I wouldn't touch it.
The "mod scripts found" message is normal, it means your framework (mods\packages folder) is working as it should.
