Showtime.

Post by MadameJanq on Wed 19 Dec 2012, 07:17

I just installed Showtime. Did everything like I was suppose to.
When I tried opening the game, it would close out of the launcher, but never open.
I restarted my computer and checked for updates. I tried again before applying the new fix.
After applying the fix, it took away the Super Natural and Seasons.
I tried re-installing them, but they are still installed, but they won't show up in the launcher.
I checked for updates again, but there are none.
What else should I do?

There is where I applied the cracks.

Sounds like the registry keys for the installed expansions aren't there. You can verify this, and fix it with my tool: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t8929-registry-helper

Quoting MadameJanq post from http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t9207-showtime-supernatural-and-seasons-crashing
MadameJanq wrote:So last night I downloaded Showtime. I had a problem running it.

I re installed both of the games and finally got it running.
Now, every time I open the game, I can play for a while... maybe an hour.
When the screen goes black and then a window pops up saying Sims 3 is not responding.
I downloaded the newest fix, and applied it, but it still took away my Super Natural and Seasons.
I have no idea what to do. :/

What fix are you applying the Ultimate Fix, or the #Crack with the Showtime Expansions? If you were doing the #Crack folder with the Showtime Expansion, try the Ultimate Fix http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

I did apply the Ultimate Fix.
That is what made the other two expansions disappear.
Should I uninstall them, then try to re-install, but in order of the expansions?

I do apologize for making a new topic.

How do they disappear? They just dim out or disappear completely from the launcher?

If it completely disappears, download the latest Ultimate Fix, since you would have a older one.

I scroll over them in the launcher, it says that they are required.
But, if I copy the cracks from those expansions, then they will light up again.

I'm pretty sure I have the newest one, because it does say Seasons & Super Natural along with all the others in the folder.

Hello,

That sounds like the latest fix indeed.
Ok keep your expansion cracks where they are, you're not using them anyway and I doubt it'll be a problem to keep them there.
You already have Seasons, so you also have the latest patch level. Only do 1 thing:
Open the fix and go to the #crack folder. Copy it's contents to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin and don't do anything else. Make sure you allow those files to overwrite the existing ones in there. If it still doesn't work, please show us a screenshot of the folder you copied it to, and please make it a detailed screenshot that shows "date modified" as well as the folder's path and all of it's contents.
