"Failed to create symlink" error message! [SOLVED]

Post by Charme on Wed 02 Jan 2013, 00:46

When I went to launch the Sims 3 game I accidentally moved the Sims 3: Fast Lane Stuff Pack icon from its original folder to my desktop. I then moved it back to its original folder, then launched the Sims 3 game. But instead I received the message "Failed to create symlink" and continues to outline something describing the Sims 3: Fast Lane Stuff Pack folder. I tried the ultimate fix many times but I still receive the same "Failed to create symlink" message. I even tried to uninstall the Fast Lane Stuff Pack, but the Sims 3 Uninstaller fails to recognize where the Fast Lane folder is, though it still exists. Please help me! I is confused

//EDIT

So after some searching, I read that someone fixed this same problem by
just reinstalling the expansion/stuff pack they accidentally moved. In
my case, I reinstalled the Sims 3: Fast Lane stuff pack and applied the
ultimate fix again and now it works perfectly! ^.^' Just a tip for
anyone else who may also experience this problem. Smile
